The society has a long and historic reputation being currently in its 190th session. It was founded in 1814 as a joint Medical Society to promote fellowship amongst all specialities of medicine and apart from a brief interlude between 1915 and 1919 there is a continuous heritage. The society continues today as one of the few fora in which a medical fraternity can come together and as such has much to offer today's specialists. Each year offers a programme of diverse entertainment as well as a joint meeting with our sister society in Edinburgh. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the fellowship of The Royal Medico-Chirurgical Society of Glasgow and look forward to your continued involvement with the society in years to come. New members are most welcome and we would encourage anyone interested in joining the society to attend any of the meetings or to contact the Honorary Secretary.
