This handbook, based on a manual from a maternity hospital, has been designed to provide a practical and theoretical knowledge of the basic procedures required to deal with labour ward emergencies. The chapters cover the following topics: physiological changes in pregnancy, analgesia, epidural analgesia in labour, caesarean section under regional analgesia, general anaesthesia in obstetrics, complications of pregnancy, obstetric haemorrhage, maternal and neonatal resuscitation. The book is aimed at all labour ward staff, and also aims to be a revision guide for postgraduate examinations. Published by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. A brief registration is required to gain access to the contents of this handbook. |
